Removing old ways, habits, and people.
Don’t cheat on the Lord. What is of the Lord, give unto the Lord.
Why am I saying this?
God was reminding me of the season many of us are in. We are in a season of consecration! The old habits, old mindsets, and even relationships that no longer serve His purpose in your life are being removed. The Lord is purging, humbling, correcting, refining, and consecrating His people.
We’re at the threshold! We are walking into the Promises of God. Many of the Words He whispered to you in the secret place are unfolding right now. This is a time for many where you are walking through the door. The Words told in the secret place from the Holy Spirit are being fulfilled as we speak. This is the year and season of breakthrough. This is the time where we will witness and testify about God fulfilling His Word.
Warning and Encouragement
I believe the Lord wants to warn and encourage His people to stay on the righteous, honest path. Recently, the Lord reminded me of a Word He gave me a few years back and how I felt like I was so close to my promise, but I kept moving in a cycle. Similar to the people of Israel who were walking around Jericho.
For seven days the Israelites circled the walls of Jericho. They repeated the same instruction from the Lord, over and over again. It wasn’t until the last day when they were instructed to praise and shout so the walls can come down of the land they were supposed to takeover. In this season, I see the walls hiding many promises, finally coming down. What was once an unseen promise or a Word unfulfilled, is now made seen. Now, God is ushering you to take captive at the opportunity at hand.
However, in that, there’s still an enemy. I believe the Lord wants to tell His people, the promise is there, but there are adversaries to overcome.
In the story, the Lord specifically tells the people of Israel:
“But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.”
Joshua 6:18-19
Achan from the tribe of Judah kept some devout things for himself. As a result, he brought destruction to the people of Israel. In the very next chapter, after conquering Jericho, due to one person’s (Achan) disobedience, they were quickly defeated in Ai.
Why is the Lord highlighting this to us?
In the process of walking in your promise, do not forget what the Lord has said! Do not forget the Kingdom is at hand!
The answer is in chapter 7 verse 13.
“Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.”
This is a reminder of the Lord – what The Lord has refined, purified, and consecrated in your past seasons as you were walking towards your Promise, do not keep or take what cannot stand against your enemies.
In this season we have to remove the greed, the pride, the secret sins, the things that are not of the Lord if we want to be fruitful in the land God has promised us.
Do not cheat the Lord for the Lord knows all! Do not be like Achan in the story, whose disobedience leads to a defeat.
I believe this is a warning and encouragement from the Lord to stay close to Him. Stay consecrated, stay prayerful, stay near to Him, stay in His vine, stay sitting at His feet.
Be near to the Father, so here when the opportunity to do the wrong thing is in front of you, it’s not even a question to have any inclination of doing anything the Lord did not intend for you to do.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.

It must be a priority to laugh in the face of distractions, we are children of God, and our promise is far greater than any temporary temptation seeking to derail the destiny He has prepared for us.
Another blog, another valuable insight.
Thank you, sis.
Blessings.
