Why does unforgiveness paralyze me? Have you felt the weight of unforgiveness towards someone or a situation, you just can’t seem to let it go? Unforgiveness carries so much weight on ourselves we don’t even realize we are carrying the load because we become so accustomed to our own hurt and offense. Unforgiveness paralyzes because the lack of forgiving creates blockages for us to properly move according to way of the Lord.
Holy Spirit gave me a word at Transfer Conference during worship. The whole entire two hour worship session, Holy Spirit kept ringing in my ear saying, “You brought them to the room.” The short phrase echoed throughout the entire worship service, I couldn’t shake it off. I say this because the Holy Spirit took me on a little bunny trail in the midst of my personal quiet time and what He was showing me, I also want to share with all of you.
Unforgiveness to Forgiveness leads to Healing
The Holy Spirit reminded me of the story in the Gospels where the four men brought their paralytic friend to be healed. The men had so much faith for their friend to be healed, they went to the roof, opened the roof, and dropped their friend down through the ceiling.
In every single version of this account (Matthew 9:1-8, Mark 2:1-12, Luke 5:17-26), Jesus said, “Man, your sins are forgiven.”
A few verses later he refuted with the Pharisees and said, “Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk?’”
In the next few verses you read how a man who was once paralyzed, rose up and walked out of that building!
The interesting part of this story is at first, Jesus didn’t speak to Him being paralyzed, He spoke on what was paralyzing the man.
What I believe the word of the Lord is today is to ask yourself – what is paralyzing me?
Is it forgiveness? Is it offense? Whatever it may be, I believe healing is going to take place through the reading of this blog.
Jesus wants to usher you into your healing and breakthrough of what has been paralyzing you from moving forward and pursuing what you have been called to do.
Jesus spoke to what was blocking the paralytic from moving. It wasn’t because he was inherently born that way, it was due to harbored unforgiveness. A lot of what we experience in the physical world, is because there is something to be dealt with in the spiritual.
The reason why your life isn’t moving forward it’s because there is something that has to be uprooted in your life that can no longer go forward in your next season. I have faith just like the four men that you will receive the healing you need today. The Lord is speaking right into the “thing” that is inhibiting you from walking out the building into your next door.
If this blog is ministering to you, I pray the Lord reveals the areas in our life that are blocking us from true freedom and true healing. After today and after true healing you will be walking out the building into your next door the Father has opened for you.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for the word you have given today! I thank you for being such a gracious Father where you want your children to live in freedom. Lord we thank you for your word and your Son Jesus whom you have sent to die for our sins and transgressions. Today, we come before you and ask to reveal the areas in our life that need healing. We ask for you to reveal what is blocking us from receiving your healing and living life in true freedom with you. I pray for hearts to be softened and for the Love of the Father to consume the reader today. Any ounce of offense, unforgiveness, hurt, anger, or fruits not of you may be surgically removed by you Holy Spirit. I rebuke any unclean spirit attached to the reader to be removed in Jesus Name. We thank you for freedom and for healing.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
