On Sunday, May 12, 2025 I saw five dead deer. I saw two on the way to the beach and three on my way back from the beach. Seeing deer is not a coincidence where I am from in Northern California, but it was very peculiar seeing five dead deer. As morbid as it sounds, I believe the Lord was trying to show me something and I couldn’t pin point it.
Two days later, last night, as I was about to sleep, the Holy Spirit deposited into my Spirit the meaning behind the five dead deer. The Holy Spirit reminded me we are in the Hebrew year of 5785.
We are about to come close to the last quarter of this Hebraic calendar year as Rosh Hashanah approaches us this September or the month of Tishrei.
What Does the Hebrew Year 5785 Mean Spiritually?
The year 5785 is deeply symbolic:
8 marks a new beginning
5 represents the grace of God
7 signifies completion
With all this in mind, the Holy Spirit was revealing to me in the midst of my slumber, how the five dead deer I saw were prophetic signifying grace will carry us from a place of completion to a new beginning.
I believe the Lord is saying there will be a “death” in either the natural or supernatural of things, but there will be life right after. There will be an end to one thing, but a beginning to another. Though this may sound unsettling, this isn’t a message of doom, but a promise of transformation and divine transition.
Jesus was pierced in five places
The Holy Spirit reminded me of how Jesus was pierced in five places during His crucifixion:
- Both hands
- His Feet
- His side
- His head (crown of thorns)
Hands: The End of an Old Work
Your hands represent the work you have done. It represents the labor you have poured in the land God has placed you in. With that, you may experience an end to a place you have worked so hard in and God is calling you to put your hands somewhere else.
(1 Thessalonians 4:11; Ecclesiastes 9:10; Deuteronomy 28:12)
Feet: A Shift in Direction
Your feet represent where you are going or where you have gone. It represents location as your feet plan where you go. The Lord is revealing how there might be a shift in your steps. There might be an end to where your feet have been planted and roamed, and now it’s time to dust your feet and continue to the next city the Lord is calling you to go to. The Lord might be calling you to experience something in a new place.
(Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 16:9; Matthew 10: 14-16)
Side: Changing Relationships and Partnerships
The side represents partnership, friendship, and relationship. Who is walking alongside you? The Holy Spirit was showing me there will be an end to friendships and beginning of new ones in this season. God is going to bring people in your life to help walk alongside you that former relationships couldn’t extract from you and that’s okay.
I’m reminded of Moses’s generation who didn’t see the promise land but they were walking alongside a generation that did see the promise land. There’s people that are going to help you get to the wall, but won’t be there when the walls come down.
(Genesis 2:21-24; Amos 3:3; Deuteronomy 3:18; Leviticus 26:12; Joshua 6)
Head: End of an Old Voice of Authority
The head represents the end of a voice that has had authority over your life. I believe this can be spiritual and physical. Some of us have a voice in our head that is not of the Lord that I believe the Lord will supernaturally set you free from and be delivered from because it can no longer stand with you. I also believe there will be an end to an authoritative relationship in your life. For instance it can be either leaving your Father’s house like how Abraham had done out of faith. I also believe it can be a Ruth moment where you went from working a field, to owning a field. Or it can look like Esther where you were from looking despised to being a Queen.
(Abraham Genesis 12:1-3; Ruth 4; Esther 2)
Word of the Lord
I believe the Lord is saying “I am gracing your exit and I am gracing your entrance!”
You are stepping into the promises of God, says the Lord. His Spirit has been poured out on all, and now the Lord is saying, “Be filled, be fruitful and multiply! Go and do the work, I, the Lord has given you.”
In Jesus Name, Amen.

That’s good stuff Lani. Proud of your study and proud to be your dad. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and stay in the secret place.
