The more I live and read the Word – more specifically the Gospels; I am amazed at His Name. As I scroll through social media, talk to people, and observe the way people speak about God, I realize how powerful the name of Jesus is.
Growing up, we often hear the phrases “Glory to God,” “I want to thank God,” etc. Although they are power statements; (we are supposed to give God all the praise and glory and love Him), I think the media misses the mark when Jesus is not mentioned or at least intentioned in the context of those statements.
We often hear many celebrities talk about God, but we never hear anything about them professing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We often hear many of our peers do the same thing, where they profess God, but do not claim Jesus or choose to live like Him.
Looking back now that I am a little bit more spiritually mature than my high school self, I remember watching award shows of artists, musicians, and A-list celebrities, giving credit to God (which is amazing), but does their walk match the talk?
**Before I get accused of judging, I would like to say I am not judging other people’s faith journey. We are not called to judge others; we leave that up to God, but we are called to be fruit inspectors (Matt. 7: 15-20). Being fruit inspectors allows us to discern the situation.**
The more I read throughout the Gospels, it is so imperative to understand how much authority the name of Jesus holds. His name alone is an atmosphere shifter. His name alone changes lives and stirs hearts.
It is so interesting because I have noticed whenever I post God, it seems more socially acceptable and there will be a lot of people reposting, screenshotting, or commenting, but once Jesus is involved, the reactions aren’t as much the same.
I have noticed this and I want to remind everyone who reads this – Jesus is the only way to get access to the Father! Jesus is the way, the Truth, and the Life. It says no one can get through the Father God if they don’t accept or believe in Jesus.
I am not condemning or discounting anyone’s walk or faith, if they aren’t vocal claiming Jesus in public but they are in private, because I am in no place to judge anyone. However, I want to raise awareness of who claims the Christian title. I advise to fruit inspect all those who claim God, but reject Jesus. God is universal, but Jesus creates distinction. People can believe in God or a god or gods, but Christians believe Jesus is the Lord and Savior and the only true way to get access to God the Father (that is the distinction)!
Many people and celebrities self proclaim themselves as Christians (thank you Jesus), however continue to be fruit inspectors, because if they aren’t professing Jesus and their walk is not matching up with the talk, the enemy would love to deceive all those they have influence on.
The ability to fruit inspect allows you to discern, so you wouldn’t be deceived. You will know other Christians by the fruit they produce because why? – we are abided in the true Vine, JESUS. We bear His fruit (fruits of the spirit) when we abide in His Vine.
I pray this reaches all those who need to hear it. I pray this blog will be used for Your Kingdom, Jesus. I pray this blog will touch the hearts of those who read it. I pray for your love, grace, and mercy over this blog. In Jesus name, Amen.
