once you move, God can move.

once you move, God can move.

shut the door.

This blog is going to be a little transparent for me. Recently, God has blessed me with doors of opportunity, and now I have kind of come to a crossroads where there are many turns to take but I don’t know which one to take. They’re all amazing opportunities but I am not sure which one is aligned with God’s plan on my life.

This is the beauty of Christianity – we walk by faith and not by sight. These opportunities God has opened to work with startup companies, continue coaching, become a fitness trainer, pursue my business goals, become full time on social media – these all sound amazing but I have gone too far and seen God move so much in my life to pick an avenue that I desire and not what God desires for my life.

I am sharing this to not only be transparent, but just encourage someone else who is in the same season. In my quiet time with God the past couple of days, the Holy Spirit led me to Matthew 6:6

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

In this verse, the Holy Spirit said to me “sometimes you have to close the door, so God can open a door.” – This spoke to me!

I love taking the bible literally and dissecting the words that were written. Especially words/phrases that the Holy Spirit points out to me. In Matthew 6:6, the part of the verse that writes “go into your room, close the door and pray…” spoke right into my season of life. I just feel God urging me to close a door as a test of obedience and to grow in my faith.

In my past season, I learned to let go and let God. I allowed God to take full control and let Him pave the way – God was closing the doors and made it adamant where He wanted me to go. Now, I am in a completely opposite season where there are so many doors open, and God wants me to shut one, so He can pave the rest.

In other terms, when I was talking to my brother about this, He said “Big sis you have to put something on the altar again” – And it’s true! I feel like God wants me to put something on the altar.

I wanted to share this today, because as I am walking out this season, I wanted to encourage someone else as well. Your quiet time with God does not go unnoticed. What you do in private with God (your worship, your prayers, your reading), will be rewarded in public. Whatever season you are in, allow God to plant your steps – let the Holy Spirit guide and lead you! Sometimes, God calls you to take action before He takes action. If this blog speaks to you as well – What door will you be shutting in your life?

Sometimes God wants us to move before He starts removing and aligning.
